Project Overview –
RSC Scaffolding Ltd proudly completed the Quantock House project — a large-scale scaffolding operation delivered on time and within budget. This complex build supported essential exterior and roofline refurbishments across a fully occupied structure, covering approximately 8,500m² and featuring a 1,700m² temporary roof. With dismantling now complete, the project closed safely and efficiently, with zero incidents.
Scope of Works Delivered –
- Independent Scaffold: Full-perimeter scaffold covering 8,500m², enabling safe access for all works across the structure.
- Temporary Roof Structure: A 1,700m² weatherproof roof was installed to protect the works and maintain progress in all weather.
- Access and Logistics: Four Haki staircases and five hoist towers (up to 15m high) provided efficient and safe access for personnel and materials.
Key Challenges Overcome –
Limited Material Access: Over 120 linear metres of the building had restricted access. RSC worked closely with Chas Berger to design a scaffold system that enabled effective material movement in tight conditions.
Live Site Conditions: The building remained fully occupied throughout. RSC’s team ensured all scaffolding was installed and maintained with minimal disruption to residents and staff, prioritising safety and access.
Complex Structural Design: A bespoke scaffold design was required due to the building’s layout. Close coordination with the client ensured a fully tailored and practical solution.
